About Delhi Heritage Photography Club (DHPC)
Delhi Heritage Photography Club is an online Photography Hobby Club dedicated to
promote Heritage Photography and educate people about the importance of our built
heritage. Very active on Facebook, DHPC
is slowly expanding itself to areas beyond the boundaries
of Facebook. In past several years, DHPC has conducted numerous Photowalks and spread
awareness about unknown and lesser known monuments of Delhi.
The dream of Delhi Heritage Photography Club (DHPC)
was seen as 'Delhi
Heritage Awareness Club'
in 2009, when the foundation of 'Monuments of Delhi
' was laid on 24th
2009, when Vikramjit Singh
to explore the beautiful Delhi along with his friends, thus making it the very first Photowalk of the yet
to be born club. As they explored monuments, they realized that Delhi is much bigger
than their imagination. It was not possible to explore everything for a single person.
Soon, Delhi Heritage Awareness Club was started as a Facebook Group and upon suggestions
from various senior members, the group was formally established with its current
name and status. After 1 year of recce, on the 1st
of October 2010, DHPC had it's first
official Heritage Photowalk at the Mehrauli Archaeological Park. Since then, DHPC has done more than 75 Photowalks
and have grown from 1 to over 1200.
