The much awaiting DHPC-Exhibition-2014 is here. This year again, we will be putting up our exhibition at India Habitat Centre's all 4 lobbies. We invite entries from all members of Delhi Heritage Photography Club for the exhibition.

DHPC will hold a contest. The winning photographs from this contest will reach the Exhibition, which will be conducted from 1st March 2014 to 31st March 2014.

Theme: Forgotten Heritage - Delhi

Calendar of Events:
15th January – Actual Submission begins for Contest
31st January – Submission closes
10th February – Judgement Completes & Winners informed
15th February – Collection of Hi-Res versions for Printing Closes
25th February – Printing and Framing of Photographs Completes
1st March – Putting up the pictures at IHC galleries - Exhibition Starts
31st March – Exhibition concluded at IHC

Rules & Regulations:
- All Indians and Foriegn nationals can participate
- Picture must be of the Built Heritage, i.e. a Monument
- The Monument (or part of) covered should be existing and publically accessible
- Contestants are free to click the Monument alone, or compose the picture with other living/non-living subjects. The monumental structure must be visible, if the picture contains other subjects
- Photographs must be clicked by the person submitting them for contest. Submitting someone else's photograph will be considered an act of copyright violation and will be subject to immediate rejection
- Every contestant can submit maximum of 3 pictures
- Submitting photographs of Popular Monuments (list given below) is not allowed. Only lesser known & less popular monuments can be submitted
- Photographs must not have any watermark or overlay on them

How to Submit Photographs for the Contest:
We request all participants to submit prints of size 8" X 10" for each of their entry. For those, who cannot submit a printed copy, an e-copy will also be accepted. The e-copy (JPEG), sent via website or email will be printed by organizers and submitted for judgement. While we will try to get the best quality prints done, the final output cannot be guarnateed. Entry channel will open from 15th January and will be open till 31st January 2014. It would be great if contestants can also submit EXIF data (though not compulsory)

The Contest & Jury:
All pictures submitted for contest will be sent for judgement. The jury will consist of the following:

Shri Amarjeet Maggu: A hidden gem and an amazing photographer, whose photographs are simple yet creative. Currently working as Chief Manager, Delhi Tourism, Amarjeet jee finds time to click and educate his students about the secrets of photography. (more: http://www.amarjeetmaggu.com/)

Shri Sushil Khandelwal: One of the finest Architectural & Industrial Photography experts with 25 years of experience and a special eye for Monuments and built heritage. Judges will select approximately 100 pictures for the exhibition. Selected candidates will be informed and requested to submit hi-res files for printing.

The Exhibition:
Winners will be informed via mail/sms. They will have to submit hi-res files in 5 days. The printing and framing will be done by Exhibition Organizers. The exhibition will be put up on 1st of March 2014 and will be continued till 31st March 2014 at all 4 lobbies of India Habitat Centre. We are also in talks with few other galleries, so this exhibition can be extended for few more months. However, the extension is subject to approval from other galleries and cannot be confirmed at this stage.

While the entry to contest is absolutely free, there are charges for the winning pictures. Winners will have to pay a sum of Rs. 2500/- for each winning entry they submitted. It should be noted, that once the picture wins the contest, the winner will not be bound to put his picture for exhibition. S/he can opt out of the exhibition, in which case, s/he will not have to pay anything. Payment must be done before 15th February 2014.
This amount can be waived off, if organizers are able to arrange sponsors in time ;)

Most Important:
We are still in talks with Sponsors and the Organizations that are supporting us for this exhibition. There are chances that some rules might get tweaked during the course. But we will make sure that no rule is changed after 15th. Hence, before you start submitting your pictures on 15th, please go through the rule sheet once again.
Also, the decision of Jury will be final and binding in all cases

List of Monuments 'not' allowed:
- Entire Qutub Complex (Including Qutub Minar, Alai Minar, Iron Pillar, Khilji's Complex, Iltutmish's Tomb and other structures within ticketed compound)
- Red Fort Complex (with an exception of Salimgarh Fort)
- Humayun's Tomb (Including Isa Khan's Tomb, Bu Halima, Arab ki Sarai and the ticketed portion of Humayun's Tomb)
- Safdarjung's Tomb and its surroundings
- Old Fort Complex
- Jantar Mantar Complex
- Lutyen's Delhi (Including India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Parliament House, CP and other govt buildings built by Lutyens)
- Lotus & ISCKON Temples

List of Allowed Monuments:
There are over 500 monuments which can be covered. Organizers are preparing an reference list and will share for everyone's reference in coming days. However, the submissions are not restricted to the list provided by organizers
